Description of Sub-project 1

The general objective of Sub-project 1 (Behavioural Effects and Driver-Vehicle-Environment Modelling) is to:
  • develop a basic understanding of the DVE interaction and the behavioural effects of IVIS and ADAS,
  • develop this into a model and
  • computer simulation for predicting these effects.
These three major lines of development are carried out in parallel exchanging information and data while work progresses towards the final Overall DVE-Predicting Model/Simulation.

1.1.1a Synthesis of models for Joint Driver-Vehicle interaction design.
This report describes the outcome of a review of a set models proposed as candidates for the joint driver-vehicle-environment (DVE) model to be used by AIDE.

This report describes the set of equations and correlations that may enable to represent in simple and fast running simulation the dynamic interactions between driver-vehicle-environment.

1.3.1 DVE Simulation architecture and preliminary guidelines for model software implementation

1.3.2 Driving Simulator Tests and Data Analysis for DVE model validation
The objective of this study is to discuss the process of experimental data collection and analysis of real driver performances. These results will then be utilised for the validation set up of the SSDrive numerical simulation tool (presented in D1.3.3).

1.3.4 Final software release and user manual
The purpose of the original modelling approach of DVE and, in particular, of the driver model is not to obtain a simulation of the greater possible fidelity, but to provide a flexible and durable instrument that can be easily configured and expanded.

1.3.5 DVE Model Validation Tests: data analysis and results
This document aims at illustrating the activity carried out in the WP1.3 of AIDE-SP1 subproject, about the tuning and validation of specific driver’s model parameters (i.e. Task Demand and Distraction), as detailed in the Driver-Vehicle-Environment framework (see D1.1.3, D1.1.4).
